Helio

Helio is an energy tracker for iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac. You keep a short list of habits — the ones that lift your energy and the ones that drain it — and log them with a single tap. The day's ring fills toward what those habits are worth, and nothing else is scored against you.

Helio is made by one person, so a reply can take a day or two — but every message is read. You can also write from inside the app: Settings → Send Feedback.

How do I get started?

Open the app. There is a short intro on first launch, and Helio sets up a few starter habits so the first screen is not empty. From there:

Do I need an account?

No. Helio works fully anonymously from the first launch — there is no sign-up screen and nothing is gated behind one. Behind the scenes the app creates an anonymous account so your data has somewhere to live, but it asks you for nothing.

Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and does exactly one thing: it ties that data to an account so the same habits appear on your other devices. The Mac app is the single exception — because it talks to the server directly, it needs you to be signed in. If you have been using Helio anonymously, sign in on the iPhone first, then use the same account on the Mac.

How do the widgets, the Apple Watch app and the Mac app relate to the phone?

The iPhone is the source of truth. The companions show what the phone last told them and send taps back to it:

If a companion looks a step behind, opening the iPhone app is the fastest way to make everything agree.

Where is my data kept, and how does syncing work?

Your habits, your daily logs, your notes and your settings are stored under your account on Google's Firebase, and cached on the device so the app works without a connection. Changes sync as soon as you are online — there is no manual sync button and no backup to manage.

The full detail of what is stored and who can see it is in the privacy policy.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Logging, editing and adding habits all work without a connection; the changes are held on the device and sent when you are back online. The same is true of taps made on the Apple Watch or from a widget.

My reminders are not arriving

Reminders are ordinary local notifications scheduled on the device. Two things to check:

If both look right and reminders still do not arrive, email us with your device and iOS version.

How do I delete my account, and what does that delete?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. If you are signed in with Apple or Google, iOS will ask you to sign in once more to confirm it is you.

It removes your habits, your daily logs, your notes, your suggested-habit votes and bookmarks, your settings, and the sign-in account itself. This cannot be undone, and there is no copy to restore from. Afterwards the app starts fresh as a new anonymous user, so you can keep using it.

If you would rather not do it in the app, email us and we will delete the account for you.

How do I reach a human?

Email alexslkmain@gmail.com, or use Settings → Send Feedback inside the app, which reaches the same person. Bug reports are more useful with your device model, your iOS version and what you were doing at the time — but send them anyway if you have none of that.
